The Account Executive will generate new and service existing local accounts, ensuring all financial goals of publication are being exceeded, while developing and maintaining relationships with agencies and clients.
Must have the ability to manage and enhance direct relationships with agencies and clients to promote Skirt’s image and perception. The ability to identify the needs of advertisers and prepare custom sales presentations with solutions to those needs is necessary.
- Developing and creating new programs to maximize revenue from existing clients, continual development of new business revenue streams
- Maintaining a customer friendly attitude and dedication to customer needs, being prepared with all information needed (including historical budget, this year’s budget, or any other historical or present information) that sales management requires to make sound and informed business decisions All other duties as assigned
A Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing or equivalent related experience is required. Requires analytical and technical skills to analyze specific sales situations.
Experience with “CMR”, and “Office” software applications a plus. Must demonstrate the effective recognition, oral and written communication skills to influence external contacts. Requires one to three years of sales experience with a prior print, radio or television background preferred.

Our goal is to provide our interns with the most hands-on, practical training and experience in town. Whether you’re on-site at an event, or contributing content to our website or magazine, we expect you to bring new ideas and roll up your sleeves to complete them; your work will be diverse and impactful. This is a great opportunity for students who love to learn by doing, who are passionate about their work, and aren’t shy about trying something new.
All interns must be current college/university students and must receive academic credit for their internship. Internships are unpaid.
We generally request 10-20 hours per week and can work with selected candidates to match your availability to our current projects. The internship description may specify cases in which other hours are expected. Internships are unpaid. Eligible interns must be currently enrolled in a postsecondary academic institution. High school students and rising college freshman are not eligible to apply.

JOB TITLE: Editorial Intern
Objective: The goal of the editorial internship program at Skirt. magazine is to fully immerse students in the process of producing our monthly print magazine and/or website. Interns can expect hands-on, practical experience in a busy editorial environment.
Applicants must be college students studying journalism, publishing, digital media, or a related field. Proficiency in MS Office is expected. Basic knowledge of WordPress, Photoshop, InDesign, and HTML a plus.
