Palm Springs Meets Charleston: Bar Cart Entertaining

This past weekend, I went back home to Arkansas for a family float trip. We headed up to Northwest Arkansas for some rest, relaxation, and to spend time with the family. What I didn’t expect from my old college stomping ground was the great amount of thrift shops. Thrifting always takes me to my happy place, so imagine my surprise when I saw thrift shop after thrift shop with some awesome finds! I found some great mid century bar glasses and a retro radio from 410 Vintage Market and In Retrospect.

Now these finds may seem random, but seeing how the next room on our re-model list is our dining room and no dining room is complete without a great bar cart, it made sense to snag these awesome pieces. It’s the perfect area to mix a drink, take that first sip, and relax from a hectic day. One of the best things about bar carts is you can pretty much roll them anywhere! If you decide you want to entertain outside or on the porch, you have a cute little bar already set up!

I put together a little preview of a fun, retro inspired way to accessorize your bar cart. It can be hard sometimes to see the bigger picture with thrift finds, but having a main goal or specific look in mind really helps. My look was very mid-century, Palm Springs inspired. The bar glasses are one of my finds from 410 Vintage Market and the adorable recipe cards and palm tree stirrers are from Dandy Boutique.

Nothing like adding a retro radio to play a few tunes, another fun find from the Arkansas thrifting adventure. It’s the perfect way to get the party started! The vintage ice buckets are from the adorable home decor store, Juxtaposition, around the corner from Dandy. Instead of putting ice in them, I used them as planters to add a little green; a fun tip from Terry Stephenson, the owner of this delightful local boutique. Lastly, I threw in the leaf print, also from Dandy, because I thought it added to the Palm Springs vibe.

It turned out great! I felt like my little bar cart could entertain if the most retro of guests! Now sit back, take a sip and enjoy everything summers in Charleston have to offer!
