On Wednesday, April 20, six of the South’s rising star female chefs come together for an over-the-top dinner at Cannon Green (103 Spring Street). The Cannonborough restaurant is partnering with the James Beard Foundation (JBF) to host a Celebrity Chef Tour dinner, honoring the female chef community and the best Lowcountry spring ingredients.
Joining Cannon Green Chef Amalia Scatena in the kitchen are some of the county’s brightest female chefs, including Top Chef winner Kristen Kish – who just announced she’s opening a restaurant here in Charleston soon – Emily Hahn (Warehouse Bar + Kitchen), Katy Keefe (McCrady’s), Jill Mathias (Chez Nous), and Rebecca Wilcomb (Herbsaint).
These acclaimed chefs will work together to craft a Southern-inspired, multi-course menu paired with organically farmed French wines, imported and presented by David McCarus of McCarus Beverage Company.
The evening begins with a cocktail reception featuring Cathead Vodka and Cannonborough Beverage Co. libations at 6:30 p.m., followed by a family-style meal at 7:30 p.m. The attire for the night is dressy casual and tickets are $150, inclusive of wine pairings, gratuity, and tax. For tickets, visit Cannon Green James Beard Celeb Chef Dinner.
Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the James Beard Foundation. Founded in 1986, the Foundation celebrates and honors America’s culinary heritage through an array of events that educate and inspire all over the country. The James Beard Celebrity Chef Tour allows esteemed chefs from all over to collaborate and share the finest and most delicious recipes and foods of the season.
