Biography

I am a year out of college and have started my own stationery business, MEllen Designs (www.mellendesigns.com). So, in the small amount of time I find between drawing, designing and selling, I try and squeeze in a few other things I love, such as – relaxing to a cup of coffee on Saturday mornings, water skiing at sunset, dinner with friends, a good glass of Chardonnay, long talks with my 12 year old niece, laughing with my sisters, deep hugs from my boyfriend, and ice cream at any time on any day… I live in Lexington, Kentucky which has a lovely mix of southern tradition and urban eccentricity. I am fortunate that my full-time job is located on a farm in the country and I pass by the beautiful horse farms of Kentucky each day to and from work. I’ve found that leaving work at 7 p.m. isn’t too bad when there is a sunset to enjoy on the way home. Quite truthfully, I'm not very good with writing “about me pages” but I hope this gives you an idea of me and intrigues you to follow my blogs.
