Biography

My life is quite simply a mix of complex conflictions. I’m a New Englander living in Metro Atlanta who’s trying desperately to ensure the long vowels creeping into my speech patterns are effectively hidden when I visit my home town.

An impassioned caretaker by nature, I love to be engulfed by family and friends, but I’m a rather extreme introvert who needs copious amounts of solo time or I crash-and-burn.

I despise the vacuum cleaner but have two German Sheppard Dogs.

I had always preferred puppies to children, but when I turned 28 I was overcome with a desperate desire and spent five years in a life-defining pursuit of motherhood. The most exquisite component of my life is our son, Aaron, born in 2004 through surrogacy.

I’m pragmatic and smart but in 1995 I fell head-over-heals for a man 27-years-my-senior who is twice divorced with two children from each marriage, the oldest of whom is only nine months younger than I am. Thankfully, my heart sometimes vetoes my brain and I said yes when he proposed.

Did I mention my personal life is a mix of complexities? If you’re keeping track, that’s…one sexy older man, two dogs, four adult children, two ex wives and a four-year-old son.

I’m intensely private but I started a blog.

Complex conflictions…I wouldn’t have it any other way.
