If you like art, you like pets, and you like wine...tonight’s your night. There are several events going on this evening (both of which I will be attending) that you’re not going to want to miss.
MargoKaufmanGallery.com cordially invites you to the Bark Show: A Benefit for Pet Helpers.
TONIGHT (Wednesday, July 16)
6-9pm
The Wickliffe House
178 Ashley Ave.
Margo is partnering with Pet Helpers for the largest art show she has ever hosted! This group show will feature 9 of the area’s most talented contemporary artists. Charleston painters Kat Hastie and Townsend Davidson will be joined by newly discovered up-and-comers, Sally Benedict and Kate Long Stevenson. Potter prodigy, Daniel McSweeney, coming off a recent nearly sold out show will show new works still warm from the kiln. Kaminer Haislip, a silversmith using old world technique to create contemporary designs, will present her take on the classic Charleston Rice Spoon. And that’s just the first floor of the Wickliffe House! Margo’s roster of fabulous work includes wooden furniture, sculpture, photography, and canvas. A portion of sales from the event will benefit, local animal adoption center, Pet Helpers!
Then, stop by The Trusted Palate for a glass of vin rouge at the reception for Tim Hussey’s solo show.
TONIGHT
7-9pm
The Trusted Palate
563 King St.
In 1992, Tim (HusseyDesign.com) started by painting live sets for MTV, then moved through several years where his illustrations appeared in many major publications, from Rolling Stone to The New York Times. He eventually was art director for several different magazines, including GQ, Musician and Outside. This led Hussey to teaching advanced courses at the School of Visual Arts in New York. He went on to receive American Illustration's "Top 20 Images of the Year" award, and began focusing on fine arts, with art shows around the country.
