Our cottage in Michigan has the best sink. I love it because it’s deep. Really, no other reason than it’s deep. But we’re not going to have that cottage anymore. Anyone seen the economy lately? We’re suffering too.
Hubby is going to go up and get some stuff out and I asked him to please bring me my sink. He reminded me that it’s much easier to sell a house with a kitchen sink but since the place is lacking a stove or oven and I always made due (with a microwave, hot plate, and grill) I don’t quite see a problem. Then he said the magic words. “You can get whatever sink you want for here.” (Our actual residence in Atlanta, Georgia.) I’ve had my eye on it for awhile. All I knew was that it’s a single bowl sink that you can get a second bowl insert for. How cool is that? We mostly use one side or the other anyway, so to have one big bowl that we can convert would be awesome! I started shopping tonight and this is what I’ve found...
Lowe’s doesn’t sell it anymore. That’s fine with me because years ago, Lowe’s hosted a show where 3 couples each got a house and went room by room with a budget and completely remodeled the house. At the end of the season, the couple with the “best improvements” won the house. And what about the other two couples? The one couple got engaged in the back yard while doing the back yard landscape re-do. It was highly romantic and I’m sure they have some sentimental value attached to the house. But too bad. You didn’t do a good enough job! Thanks for the cheap labor. I really do hope Lowe’s gave them a good deal on the mortgage for the place, but they wouldn’t respond to my angry letters so I quit writing.
I digress.
The sink is by American Standard and is the anchor of theLakeland Collection.
I know! Lovely, isn’t it?! But that’s not the best part. Not only does it have the sink, but it comes has a whole collection of accessories. Check it out!

That is the whole shebang with the second bowl, both wire strainers, and the silverware holder. That does not include the cutting board that fits inside or the under cabinet/under sink holder for the second bowl! NO WAY! Ingenious!
Folks, I haven’t been this excited about a kitchen product since my Kitchen Aid stand mixer. I got it for Christmas after my friend brought hers over to make Christmas cookies. We got the dough done in no time flat and I was in love. The following year I got the food grinder/pasta maker. Inside the box was the full listing of attachments that I had missed the previous year in the flurry of excitement that just having a stand mixer brought.
I love, love, love products that multitask. It stands to reason since I also love clothes that multitask. I’m all over the dresses as shirts phase. (I’m long torso so it really works for me.) But, that’s another blog for another time. Right now I have to go ogle a dishrack!
Enjoy!

I'm still not my mother though, she would love the mixer but the rest is all just too techy for her. So, I don't have to worry--I am not my mother. (She's not bad--she's just one of THOSE women. She was convinced my husband would leave me if I didn't iron his hankies. Little did she know that he was even doing the laundry from time to time). Claudine :)
