Magazine as objet d'art

I recently found the web site for The Thing, an “object-based quarterly  publication,” and it reminded me that some of the ideas that inspire me most are new twists on an old concept.  I love the idea of magazine-as-art. I missed the first issue (August 2007), which featured a piece by the amazing Miranda July, but am hoping I can get my hands on it anyway.
