In 1995, Maureen Dowd became the fourth woman in the history of The New York Times to have her own op-ed column. She said, "The minute you settle for less than you deserve, you get even less than you settled for."
Exactly.
(from The Writer's Almanac, Jan. 14, 2008, in honor of Ms. Dowd' s birthday).

I can't deny her talent and I used to love her extremely, madly, truly, but now her columns just seem like they're written by a grownup Mean Girl, especially when it comes to Hillary. Maybe I'm biased, but it's as if instead of thinking or analyzing, she just writes the political equivalent of nanny nanny boo boo. ~nikki

So true! I just had to write that quote out on a sticky note and stick it to the bottom of my computer. What a great reminder!!!

I just wrote my first PMS article about this awesome guy I am dating that lacks the most important ingredient! Do I settle or keep looking? So, thanks for the reminder Kelly! Funny how we hear things or get things exactly at the time and point in our lives that we need them to really sink in.
