So, it’s almost the weekend and you’re thinking about what to do. If you’re like me, grocery shopping, laundry and other chores are usually at the top of the list. But this Saturday, make it different, and make a difference. Take part in the 16th annual Women’s Only 5K Walk & Run at the Women’s Hospital in Greensboro. Last year’s event raised more than $45,000, and you don’t have be a runner (or even in shape!) to participate. Proceeds fund local programs to fight breast cancer, and skirt! will be there with copies of our October issue and moral support for the thousands of women who participate each year. I was one of those women last year, and let me tell you, it’s an awesome experience.
But if exercise isn’t your thing, or you have another obligation, take your wallet and visit the Fall Frolic at The Village at North Elm from 4 to 8pm Saturday. There will be wine, food, music and shopping, and the proceeds go to help Friends for an Earlier Breast Cancer Test, a local group. Either way, your money will help save a life, and that’s way more important than laundry.
