Live from my couch: I'm watching the Republican National Convention

Wednesday, September, 3, 2008

They just showed a slideshow of pictures and the commentators were talking about the prominent figures shown. It seems weird to me that they wouldn’t want to throw some photos of women’s suffrage in there along with Martin Luther King, Jr.--or maybe even of a woman at all.  I’m pretty sure McCain picked Palin because she is a conservative woman in order to get the conservative woman vote, but, maybe throwing in evidence of a little fighting that we did on our end to earn our rights...that might ring true.

And then we have that fun commentary like, “well the music beats the democratic convention!” Are we voting on music, too? I should have listened more closely.

Oh, wow, a commercial by Obama mixed in there. This fight is getting swashbuckelling--yipee!

Yay, another slideshow.  A young woman wrote this one; yet, during her historical overview of America, there is not one mention of women’s suffrage. I think that is so sad. Women’s suffrage is taught in school still...right? A lot of focus on Martin Luther King, Jr., which is awesome, but, again--where is women’s suffrage? Do women count? Oh, then we get the following commentary from an older male anchor: “quite a little essay she wrote for a fifteen year-old.” Gotta love comments like that. I’ve got quite a few “little essays” that I wrote even before I turned fifteen that would knock the socks off many older men.

Okay, I’m falling asleep. Where are the juicy speeches? I’m going to have to pack this up and move it into the bedroom. After I wash my face and brush my teeth.

Oh yeah, we count, Sarah! I think Mccain chose Palin for the democratic vote, as well. He thinks because she's a woman, we will all vote Repulican. You know, Sister Hood of The Traveling Hockey Moms!!! I can't wait fot the debates! Then we shall see what everybody is made of :) have an awesome weekend!

Actually I think McCain picked Palin because she has ran a state, unlike McCain, Biden or Obama. When's it going to stop being black or white, male or female? What about the actual person for once!
