Welcome to Skirt!

They are just three little words, but they make me SO HAPPY. I feel like my journey to the Skirt! family has been a long time coming — and it begins miles and miles from where I am today, in a tiny town called St. Augustine — but it's finally here. In 2005 I was a new college graduate, fresh out of James Madison University with a lot of dreams and hopes and aspirations. Not to say I don't still have most of those same dreams and hopes and aspirations, but three years sure does make a difference, doesn't it? For me, three years has meant a handful of jobs, a handful of addresses and more experiences than I can count. It has meant breaking up with a boyfriend and moving on with a new one. It meant moving back in with my parents and moving into my own apartment in Manhattan. It has meant saying goodbye to my first pet and taking my very first solo vacation to visit a friend in Hawaii. It has meant opening way more credit cards then I care to admit (more on that later), attempting to snowboard and giving up my car. It has meant tears and struggle and freedom and commitment. It's meant a roller coaster of trying to figure out what I really want out of this life. This past Sunday I celebrated my one year anniversary with New York City. It's been a great year, and a great three years since graduation. I'm excited to reminisce about the past and to see what the future holds. And I'm excited to finally be a part of Skirt!
