It’s that time of year again! Ever since I moved to Charleston eight years ago, I have always loved going to Charleston Fashion Week. It’s great to see how it has grown over the years. Even before I opened Dandy Boutique, I loved to see other people’s style and personality come out in the outfits they chose for the night. I enjoyed watching the emerging desginers’ competition and the boutique shows. Coming from a background in apparel design, it is always great to see young designers display their talent and personal style. For one week, it’s all about the Charleston fashions and picking out attire for the night is part of the fun!
We paired up with Amanda of 7Gypsy and mixed and matched pieces from both stores to showcase fun looks for the week. Their owner, Sarah Berrard, has done a great job of accumulating fun, bohemian style pieces that fit perfectly with Dandy’s feminine, vintage flair!
Feeling pretty swanky with my newly done “Elsa” hair, I decided to keep with that color scheme and wear our blue faux suede skirt with 7Gypsy’s fringe kimono and amazing platforms I found at the Trunk Show. Amanda paired our Sugarhill open blazer with their wonderful fringe romper and finished the look with our metallic loafers. We tied both of our looks together with fun fringe detail and chunky jewelry.
We hope you are able to take in some of the festivities this week, celebrating local boutiques and designers. Remember to work your looks like you’re walking the runway, and don’t forget to check out 7Gypsy in their first appearance at Fashion Week! They will be closing out the Tuesday night show!
